Raj seals an emphatic treble weekend for DCC

On Saturday DCC u16 boys won the toss and batted against manor. Shriyan Singh and shriyan Naidoo put a good partnership after loss of early wicket together hitting the manor lads to all parts of the ground. This DCC reached a total of 134 in their 20 overs. Manor batted and were restricted to 114 after the allocated 20 overs. A win for the u16 Dawnheights team. Aftenoon ‘s game saw DDC B  win the toss and bat first. DCC compiled 134 for 5 with Avish Ramdutt hitting the ball around the ground. He was supported by Shriyan Naidoo, Keaton Govender and Trynn Naidoo. The dawnheights team destroyed the manor b team with opening pair of Shriyan Naidoo and Arveer Maharaj taking 3 wickets apiece. They were backed up by Trynn Naidoo, Nceba Hoto. Manor were bowled out for a paltry 39.This ended the Saturday with  2 emphatic wins over the much fancied Manor outfit. The Dawnheights teams must be commended for the team spirit they showed.

On Sunday DCC visited Topham in Chatsworth.  Topham got off to a quick start but the run rate took a dive when Raj and Shubham came.  The pressure soon told as wickets fell at regular intervals  with Raj ending with 4 wkts and 1 brilliant run out, Shubham took 2, Avishkar and Ntuli sharing the other 2.  DCC set out in the pursuit of 115  and lost both openers in quick succession before the break. Youngster Wasim and Suveer steadied the ship and it was then left to Raj and captain Comfort to take their team over the line ending on 20 and 27 respectively giving DCC their successive bonus point.
