Raj’s back to back performances leads DCC to successive victories

Railways won the toss and elected to bat and that decision seemed to pay off as the openers played the ball to all parts of the boundary racing to 50 inside 6 overs. Ishan Kalia got the breakthrough.  Then young Sheldon Madray had an impact in the game with 2 wickets in 2 balls.  Raj Verma was brought into the attack and the batsmen looked all at sea and made an immediate impact as an incredible catch by youngster Nceba brought about the demise of the other opener.  Despite the loss of wickets, Railways continued with their aggressive batting thereby allowing the DCC spinners or Raj and Akshaye to continue wittling awy.  Railways closed their innings on110. Raj Verma ended with an incredible spell of bowling with figures of 7 overs, 5 maidens, 3 wickets and 3 runs

With 111 to chase DCC, got of to the worst start possible at 4/2 after 2 overs.  Raj Verma and Avishkar Ramduth took the score to 40 before Avishkar was caught behind. Comfort Shange joined Raj Verma at the crease and the partnership quickly took the score to 80 with some imperious big hitting by both batsmen.  Comfort’s departure at 80 saw Ishan Kalia join Raj at the crease.  Raj continued his aggressive bating on his way to 62 not out.  Ishan played a supporting role as Raj powered DCC to victory with the last of his 5 sixes being the biggest.  The last 6 also marked the end of the game as an impressive Raj and Ishan gave Dawnheights a 6 wicket victory
