Raj, Shubham and Suveer star in Dawnheights’s Dominance
Dawnheights won the toss and asked Simplex to field in blistering conditions. Shubham Choudhary and Suveer Dewllal got Dawnheights off to a rollicking start with Shubham in belligerent mood as the score raced to 49/0 after 6 overs. Shubham was eventually caught at mid-wicket for a quick for 47. Raj joined Suveer and the 2 combined beautifully taking quick singles with frequent scintillating shots to the boundary combining power and timing. Suveer brought up his half century and soon thereafter they brought up their century stand. The team total of 200 was brought up in the 30th over. Suveer was bowled on 75. And Raj brought up his century with an effortless cover drive to the boundary. The heat took its toll as Raj was bowled for 103 and the team on 302 in the 42nd over. Dawnheights ended their 50 overs with an impressive 321/8.
Simplex started their reply after the break batting cautiously and from the outset it became evident that they would not attempt reaching the score. Keane soon made the break through. The cautious batting allowed Shubham to be brought into the attack. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals even though they were more interested in staying at the crease than scoring runs. Shubham proved to be the thorn in their side as he ended with figures of 10 overs, 18 runs 4 maidens and 5 wickets. Keane brought the innings to a close with his third and gave Dawnheights an emphatic 217 run bonus point victory and continue their unbeaten winning streak.
